Lion King Wait List Letter

Lion King Welcome Letter

School House Rock Welcome Letter

Registration is Closed

This year we will again have two fall musicals. Neither show requires an audition to participate. Opportunities for solos and lead roles will occur within the productions. If your child wants to try musical theatre, or if in fact if your child just wants to try theatre, that’s okay as well. Our directors are committed to having some non-singing roles too! If your child wants to try it, we have a show for them!

Our hope is to cast every single kid. Only those registered will be considered. The lottery process is designed to give directors as balanced a cast as possible.

What Now?

Step 1

The registration will open on www.therct.com on the morning of Friday, May 12th and close on Tuesday, May 16th. Parents/actors will be informed of the lottery results via e-mail by May 20th.

Step 2

If you receive an e-mail inviting you to register and pay, you will have until May 25th to do so. If you have not registered and paid (or made payment arrangements) your child’s place will be given to a child on the wait list. You will only receive confirmation of payment, not registration.

If you receive an e-mail stating your child was not selected in the lottery, do not despair. Their name will go on the wait list and we will circle back when/if places become available.

Step 3

Attend the meeting and be ready to have some fun!

FAQs

Are there scholarships or payment plans available? Yes. Please contact RCT for more details. If tuition is a barrier to your child’s participation, please contact rct@therct.com to discuss options.

Are sibling discounts available? Yes. If there are siblings participating, they will receive a tuition discount even if they are participating in the two different fall shows.

What is the parent volunteer requirement?  We require twenty hours including two shifts during performance weekends. All volunteers are required to have a current background check with RCT. Hours can be completed by a parent, sibling, grandparent, etc.

If both of my children make the lottery, does that mean I need to perform the volunteer duties for 2 positions accepted? The hour requirement will be 30 hours combined.

Does my child have a better chance in the lottery if they have performed with RCT previously? No.

Does my child have a better chance in the lottery if they are 5th or 8th graders? Yes, priority will be given to 5th and 8th graders.

If one of my children makes the lottery, is my other child given priority in participating? No.

Does acting, singing or dancing ability come in to play in the lottery? No.

What about scheduling conflicts? We recognize that the talented young actors with RCT may have other activities such as choir rehearsal, ballet performances, etc. Therefore, we will be asking parents to indicate the actor’s level of commitment and availability before casting the specific roles. If a child regularly needs a lesser commitment the directors will take that into consideration when casting.

The two weeks prior to opening night are mandatory for all actors. A weekend rehearsal may be called to kick off tech week, the week before opening night.

If I register and pay, can I get my money back if we change our mind or a conflict arises? One half of the tuition is non-refundable. The remaining 50% will become non-refundable on July 15th.
